July 13, 2012 Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Armenia I.Kukhta met with the Head of the OSCE Office in Yerevan Andrey Sorokin.
During the talks the sides discussed the OSCE Secretary General L.Zannier visit to the South Caucasus and priorities of Ukrainian OSCE Chairmanship in 2013.
A.Sorokin briefed the Ambassador of the main items discussed during the Secretary General visit to Yerevan, among which were:
- Armenia-OSCE collaboration;
- settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict;
- holding democratic election in the country.
Ambassador of Ukraine mentioned that in the address at the OSCE Permanent Council Meeting the Minister of Foreign Affaires of Ukraine K.Gryshchenko emphasized the intention to give a new impetus to settling the long-lasting conflicts considering the interests of both sides during the Ukrainian OSCE Chairmanship.
As a result, the parties exchanged their views on the steps Ukraine should undertake to encourage the conflicting sides to reach give-and-take in settling the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Special attention was paid to the organizational matters of the future OSCE Head visit to the region in 2013.
